Wow, what an amazing day! We were so nervous! Our guide came to get us at 2:15pm and we headed to the Civil affairs building. We arrived to see about 8 other families receive their children...it was so touching to watch that we were already tearing up and Myra wasn't even in the building yet! So we filled out some more paperwork, and all of a sudden we heard some sqweeker shoes walking through the hall outside. It was Myra and her 2 nannies who had brought her from 6 hours away to meet us. A few papers were exchanged and she was handed to us! She is so beautiful!!! We are so amazed by so many things already! She immediately took to all of us and showed no hesitation at all. She was wearing a sleeping beauty dress and transformer sqweeker shoes...haha, adorable! We got a chance to ask the nannies questions that we had written out ahead of time. They described her personality as very easy-going and somewhat shy around new people. She loves the outdoors and loves to shop in the city! How funny! She makes wonderful eye contact and is very loving. We hold out our hands to her and she lunges forward and wraps her arms around our neck! After leaving the civil affairs office, we were taken back to our hotel. We bathed her and put her in some new pajamas. She has been playing with the kids ever since, throwing the ball, playing with Tanner's cars, and carrying a little purse with a panda in it that Baylor picked out for her! We all ate Papa Johns pizza in the room tonight for dinner! There is a Chinese word for kiss that the nannies taught us, and when we say it she leans in to give us a kiss! She is incredibly smart too! She has been drawing on Baylor's Nintendo DS for the past 30 minutes! This is the part that is even more amazing... Shawn has specifically been praying for the cleft in the roof of Myra's mouth, that it would already be healing before we could even get to her. When we mention the cleft to the nannies they said, "oh, that was actually repaired two years ago!" Wow! No more cleft, no scary hospitals to anticipate, it is just answered prayer! I could just go on and on! Hope you enjoy the pictures! xoxox
